Apple has introduced the new iPad mini. The tablet is 7.2 mm wide and weighs
0.86 lbs. It has a 7.9-inch multi-touch display, FaceTime HD, iSight cameras and a 10-hour battery life.
The iPad mini has dual-band 802.11 Wi-Fi support for speeds up to 150 Mbps and is available in Wi-Fi + Cellular models. The mini will be available in black and slate or white and silver for a suggested retail price of $329 for 16GB and $429 for 32GB and $529 for 64GB.
Apple also announced the iPad 4 which has a 9.7-inch display with a new Apple designed A6X chip that is said to deliver twice the CPU performance and twice the graphics performance of the A5X. The iPad 4 will also have a 10-hour a battery life. The device has a suggested retail price of $499 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB and $699 for 64GB.
Both the iPad mini and the iPad 4 are available for pre-order on Friday.
The Wi-Fi +Cellular models of each tablet will be available at a later date.
