TriZetto Corporation, a Cognizant Company that deals in providing IT solutions to scale and simplify deployment and adoption of technology to improve operations for the healthcare industry, recently adopted Mersive‘s Solstice solution in their Executive Briefing Center. The Briefing Center is used for client presentations and interaction. The company felt that they needed to upgrade their presentation capabilities by utilizing new technologies to better collaborate with their clients. To properly improve the processes of their clients, they needed to ensure that they were using the best tools available.
“We had actually integrated the solution when we were building out the Executive Briefing Center,” says Carl Cruz-La Santa, Manager of the Executive Briefing Center at TriZetto. “It was a solution we planned to put in from the beginning.”
A team member working on the build with Carl had known the executive team at Mersive and the team member was familiar with the product. The team member brought the information about Solstice to Carl, and he was immediately impressed with all that Solstice could do. The plan was to leverage a collaboration technology in what they were calling the Visiting Room, a space defined to be a collaborative space with different technologies as well as whiteboards, and Solstice fit perfectly with what they needed. The decision was made before the build even began.
“When you start collaborating with multiple pieces of content, it changes the meeting room,” says Rob Balgley, CEO of Mersive. Mersive’s Solstice solution enables multiple users to connect simultaneously to a shared display using a range of devices over an existing WiFi or Ethernet network. With a Solstice-enabled display in the room, any number of users can instantly connect, share, and control the display, fostering collaboration and decision-making. Enterprise customers can also use the Solstice Dashboard to centrally manage all of their Solstice displays across the corporate network.
“The ability for us to share across multiple platforms, whether it be iOS devices, Android device, a PC, or a Mac OS, for us to be able to share wirelessly without having to plug in and have ugly cables all over the place, and to quickly share sources from one person to the next [led to the decision],” says Carl.
For briefings, TriZetto employees primarily use their personal devices to connect to the Solstice system. It was important that the collaboration system be able to host a number of different devices in order to not disrupt presentations. In addition, clients that come in to collaborate on the system often have sensitive information that they are displaying. There are times when, for security purposes, companies don’t wish to hand over a USB drive with confidential documents, preferring to show the information while maintaining possession of the content. Solstice allows these clients to connect to the network and display information without relinquishing the rights to the content using a USB drive to launch Solstice on a laptop or downloading the app on their smartphones and tablets.
Mersive has been supportive in meeting the specific needs of TriZetto’s business practices. Being in the healthcare industry, TriZetto needs to meet very stringent HIPAA requirements protecting the rights of patient health information. Mersive met with the network and security teams to ensure that the system allowed proper accesses while maintaining the integrity of what the system is capable of getting done. Post-installation, Mersive traveled on-site to fix any hiccups in connectivity before the system went to full use.
Employees are already utilizing the Solstice system in their presentations. It has allowed them to alter presentations on the fly and add last minute content easily by connecting to the system. TriZetto also leverages the system for demonstrations. Potential clients are given several mobile devices, including an iPhone, a Windows tablet, and an iPad, and allow them to interact with product demoes using the devices. Solstice allows for presenters to then mirror what is happening on each device on a single display screen in the room simultaneously, so each potential client can see what the other is doing at once, streamlining the demonstration process.
“It’s become a very valuable tool for demonstrations,” says Carl.
