Verizon Business says it has launched a new private networking solution with private mobile network provider Celona designed to accelerate the use of private 5G for enterprises.
The telecommunications giant says it will integrate the 5G LAN technology from Celona to its On-Site 5G portfolio, using CBRS spectrum for enterprise deployments, benefitting small medium and enterprise businesses that need to quickly deploy private networks built on cloud-first infrastructure.
The company says the offering will also help businesses expedite private 5G applications to market and streamline costs and mitigate operational challenges, as well as simplify the customer experience.
According to Verizon, the strategic partnership will leverage its On Site LTE and 5G network with Celona’s “critically acclaimed” 5G Lan products to deliver an enterprise-friendly approach to private networks and meet growing demand for reliable performance, coverage and connectivity for network-dependent applications and IoT systems.
Verizon also bills the offering as a cost barrier-lowering solution for developers.
Essentially, this allows customers of Verizon’s On Site LTE and 5G cellular networks to use a Celona LAN to deploy the private core on-premise, or on any private or public cloud.
In a press release, Verizon says the combination of its On Site service with Celona’s LAN technology brings lower latency and deterministic cellular wireless connection within an IT-friendly framework that can be easily integrated into existing enterprise IT and industrial IoT infrastructures.
Tami Erwin, Verizon Business CEO, said in a statement that businesses require new cutting-edge solutions designed to meet their needs.
“The partnership we’ve announced today does exactly that. No one is better positioned to leverage the power of private networks than Verizon, and we can’t wait to see our partnership with Celona deliver powerful results for our customers,” Erwin said.
The two companies have a shared architectural approach and vision for the power that 5G has in transforming business operations, said Rajeev Shah, co-founder and CEO of Celona, in a statement.
“We believe that 5G as a network software service, operating within common mobile edge compute environments, will give enterprises the agility they need to truly support their latest digital initiatives,” Shah said.
