Salesforce has announced Work.com for Vaccines, a new tool to help governments and healthcare organizations manage vaccine programs safety and efficiently.
The new technology, announced earlier this week, will give customers an end-to-end process by which they can design, build and manage vaccine programs at scale. It’s built on Work.com, Salesforce’s COVID-19 response solution that helps organizations and community leaders reopen businesses and municipalities safely.
Salesforce bills Work.com for Vaccines as a “unified platform to help manage vaccine programs at scale.” It includes tolls like a public health command center, vaccine inventory management, vaccination appointment scheduling, clinical vaccine administration, vaccination outcome monitoring and public health notifications.
Several pharmaceutical companies are developing a vaccine that is expected to be available in a matter of months, but it may not be available to the general population until later next year. Healthcare professionals and at-risk individuals are expected to be among the first to receive the vaccine.
According to Salesforce demand for a vaccine will be far greater than that initial supply and supply chain issues and logistics will come into play. That means we’ll need a well-organized distribution program and a process to monitor outcomes and experiences after people receive the vaccine.
In a statement, Bret Taylor, president and chief operating officer of Salesforce, said technology is going ot play a critical role in helping governments and healthcare organizations distribute the vaccine globally.
“We’re proud to play our part with Work.com for Vaccines, giving organizations the technology they need to safely and efficiently deploy their vaccine programs at scale, powered by Salesforce’s trusted Customer 360 platform,” Taylor said.
Pricing is based on the unique requirement of each public agency or healthcare organization. Work.com for Vaccines is inclusive of existing Salesforce Customer 360 products, which can be extended by customers to build and scale their vaccine administration programs.
