My TechDecisions Podcast Episode 150: February 2022 Patch Tuesday
Dustin Childs, senior communications manager at Zero Day Initiative, joins the podcast to discuss Patch Tuesday for February 2022.
Dustin Childs, senior communications manager at Zero Day Initiative, a wholly-owned vulnerability disclosure initiative from Trend Micro, joins the podcast to discuss the February 2022 Patch Tuesday. This month, Microsoft has released just 51 new patches to address vulnerabilities this month, but February’s Patch Tuesday comes with an anomaly: there are no critical-rated patches.
This is a new monthly recurring podcast featuring Childs, who will join the podcast after Patch Tuesday to talk about that month’s security updates from Microsoft and other tech providers that admins should be aware of.
Although there were no critical-rated bugs this month, there were a couple vulnerabilities that IT admins should prioritize patching, and we discuss some of them, including:
- CVE-2022-21984 – Windows DNS Server Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
- CVE-2022-21995 – Windows Hyper-V Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
- Four Elevation of Privilege Vulnerabilities in Windows Print Spooler (CVE-2022-21997, CVE-2022-21999, CVE-2022-22717 and CVE-2022-22718)
