My TechDecisions Podcast – Episode 11, Mark McPherson of Advanced Inc.
Host Jonathan Blackwood speaks with Mark McPherson of Advanced Inc. about his company’s initiative to bring tech into K-12 classrooms and train teachers to use it.
In this episode of My TechDecisions Podcast, host Jonathan Blackwood interviews Mark McPherson of Advanced Inc. Advanced has grown to become one of the largest AV integrators in North America, with offices in Orlando, Ontario, London, and more, Advanced offers installation services across the USA and Canada.
Advanced Inc. also has created an initiative to partner with K-12 clients to really help teachers in the classroom. Any integrator has the ability to set up an interactive whiteboard or projector in a classroom. These are relatively simple AV installs that can be put into any boardroom, classroom, or meeting space.
What separated Advanced Inc. is its partnership with companies like EZ-Robot and Dremel to bring in specific learning tools to the classroom. Whether robotics or 3D printing, Advanced offers solutions for the classroom that specifically speak to STEM and STEAM learning. The integration firm offers technology tools that help kids learn to code, program and engineer.
Advanced Inc. takes it a step further, in fact, by offering training for teachers and K-12 institutions on how to use these products. Advanced hired a team of former educators to create training programs to help teachers introduce the technology they install into the classroom. They will even send these former educators to schools to work with teachers to develop curriculum specific to their learning environments.
Mark speaks about Advanced’s partnerships, its initiative to bring technology to K-12 schools and how ti began, how it develops these training programs, and more in the interview.
