The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is a pretty diverse campus in terms of programs offered to its approximately 30,000 students. UNLV’s Classroom Technology Services is responsible for AV integration throughout the diverse campus, creating customized proposals for internal clients, collaborating with a local integrator, and overseeing each integration from conception to completion. The Classroom Technology Services has standardized Jetbuilt to create more customized, streamlined AV proposals for internal clients in a fraction of the time.
According to Frank Alaimo, AV/IT systems specialist for UNLV Classroom Technology Services, the school has already decided to renew Jetbuilt software for a second year.
“Our Classroom Technology Services has been buried with AV installations and yet continue to provide our faculty and students with high-quality AV integration throughout the campus. Jetbuilt’s proposal generation has cut my project proposal time in half.
Other AV Proposal Software Didn’t Cut It
UNLV’s Classroom Technology Services invested in other proposal generation systems, prior to Jetbuilt, only to find they were missing the mark, Alaimo says.
“We were using spreadsheets and anything we could find to create a proposal for our internal departments,” he says. “While using the previous software, I found myself having to create my own line drawing and equipment lists – It was set up directly for an integrator or a consultant.”
For UNLV’s Classroom Technology Services, the path to Jetbuilt came through a local integration firm, CCS Presentations.
Copying Similar Proposals Saves Time
“Although we have a large, growing and diverse campus, we complete a significant number of projects that are similar,” said Alaimo.
“For example, a faculty member will see me installing a system in one room and want it for their own room. With Jetbuilt, I can copy and paste a proposal, update a few details, and have a professional proposal in a matter of minutes.

“We use the proposals to budget for the installation and, once the project is approved, it’s turned over to CCS Presentations to complete the installation. With Jetbuilt’s sharing feature, we can quickly enter the contact for CCS Presentation and they’re able to receive a copy of the proposal and provide us with a quote, almost instantly.”
“I’m able to shave roughly 25% of my time for a unique project and an average of half the time for a copied, spec project. Plus, we receive specialized pricing from specific manufacturers due to partnerships and our status as a university and, with Jetbuilt, I can update pricing to reflect our personal accounts.”
