For IT professionals with little cloud experience, Amazon Web Services is releasing two new free training initiatives designed for hands-on cloud skills training, including a role-playing game designed to help IT professionals become more familiar with AWS and cloud computing.
The new offering is a 3D game dubbed AWS Cloud Quest: Cloud Practitioner, designed by AWS’ training and certification wing to help career professionals gain practical AWS experience.
According to Amazon, the game takes learners through a series of quests that help build cloud skills and help citizens in the game build a better city. The game includes videos, quizzes and hands-on exercises based on real-world business scenarios.
The game explores core AWS services and categories, such as compute, storage, database and security services, while helping leaners to build basic cloud solutions, the company announced.
Amazon says this game can help learners prepare for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam to earn the related industry-recognized certification. AWS Cloud Quest is available globally in English for personal computers through AWS Skill Builder.
The company also released a reimagined AWS Educate program globally, including new courses and hands-on labs to make it easier for individuals as young as 13 to enter.
Designed for students and pre-professional trainers, the program offers hundreds of hours of free, self-paced training and resources, including more than 50 courses and 10 hands-on labs in the AWS Management Console, according to AWS.
The reimagined program features four new courses, ten new labs, a redesigned website and a new online Explore section with Twitch videos, blogs and technical papers.
The course can help prepare candidates for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Exam and provide a bridge to potential employers through the AWS Educate Job Board, per the company.
AWS Educate is available globally in English, Chinese (simplified), Japanese, Korean, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.
