Our meetings are changing. Where once a conference room was filled by a table full of employees taking personal notes based on discussions and presentations, today a conference room may consist of remote employees calling or videoconferencing in, audiovisual systems providing added content and context to the meeting, and more. As the office dynamic continues to fluctuate, from the death of the corner office to the emergence of the huddle room, our meeting spaces will fluctuate with it. To ensure that everyone has the information that they need, we need to be proactive about gathering that information.
Years ago, when notes were taken during a meeting, it was up to those attending to take their own notes and ensure they gathered all relevant material. When there was no space left on the whiteboard, someone would take a few photos to capture the content before wiping it clean and starting over. Then, if you were lucky, an employee could scan a copy of the photo to keep in his or her own notes. It was an inefficient and slow system.
Luckily, a number of manufacturers have introduced and continue to work on products for just that purpose. Note capturing technology comes in handy because it allows groups to work together without being bothered by losing space or taking notes. There are several ways for you to capture the notes your team takes. Here are five useful products for capturing notes in your meetings.
