VMware Explore Europe 2022 announcements
VMware has announced several new products and services at its Explore 2022 Europe event this week in Barcelona, including new security and cloud networking tools, new modernization and cloud management capabilities, new sovereign cloud partners, new SD-WAN innovations, new multi-cloud offerings and new collaborations with HPE and Microsoft.

IBM shows off quantum computing innovations
During its 2022 IBM Quantum Summit, the tech giant made more than 10 announcements showing off its new quantum computing hardware and software, including its new 443-qubit IBM Quantum Osprey processor, the company’s largest quantum processor ever. The chip is three times larger than the Eagle processor announced last year and includes multi-level wiring to reduce noise and improve stability.
Other quantum announcements include a new control system, software capabilities and more.

CISA releases new vulnerability management guide
The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has released its guide on Stakeholder-Specific Vulnerability Categorization (SSVC), a new vulnerability management methodology that assesses vulnerabilities and prioritizes remediation efforts based on exploitation status, impacts to safety and the prevalence of the affected product.
The agency calls implementing the SSVC a “critical step” in advancing the vulnerability management ecosystem. Along with its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, Common Security Advisory Framework (CSAF) machine-readable security advisories, and the Vulnerability Exploitability eXchange (VEX), CISA says it is helping to reduce the window cyber threat actors have to exploit networks.

Zoom, Verint add new integrations
Zoom made several announcements during its Zoomtopia 2022 event, including an expanded partnership with customer engagement company Verint. The companies will integrate the Verint Customer Engagement Platform with Zoom Contact Center, adding on to an existing integration between the Verint Data Management solution and Zoom Phone and Meetings.

CompTIA Launches Workforce Solutions Team to boost tech employment
IT industry association CompTIA has launched a Workforce Solutions team to help drive closer collaboration among groups that are working to fix the tech talent shortage. The new team brings together CompTIA executives and staff who work with key influencers and decision makers in the academic, employer, government and workforce communities.
