Humly, the Stockholm, Sweden-based, workplace experience company will introduce its range of Humly Software Solutions to North American audiences at InfoComm 2023 where the company will exhibit for the first time. Humly will show its interactive software solutions in combination with its two hardware solutions, demonstrating its value proposition of providing flexible and sustainable workplace solutions that businesses can tailor to serve their business environments. Humly will be at booth 3988.

Humly Software Solutions Suite

The Humly Software Solutions suite includes four distinct workplace offerings:

 1. Humly Floor Plan
 2. Humly Reservations
 3. Humly Visitor
 4. Humly Wayfinding

Each software solution is deployable separately or in any combination throughout an office building, corporate campus, or multi-site enterprise business. All are compatible with Humly’s two hardware solutions: the Humly Booking Device, a slim, small-form-factor device with flexible mounting options and a touchscreen to reserve bookable spaces on campus; and the Humly Room Display, a tablet-sized booking solution with an interactive display for mounting outside meeting rooms.

According to Humly, the seamless interoperability of all it’s workplace solutions eliminates integration chaos and security concerns, while a flexible API ensures freedom and interoperability with a customer’s broader technology ecosystem, including third-party calendaring systems and conferencing software solutions.

Humly Visitor

Humly Visitor is “check-in to check-out” solution that tracks the visitor’s journey for security and optimization, while reducing frustration for visitors as they navigate unfamiliar territory. Visitors can check-in, approve terms and conditions, and automatically register parking spaces, while hosts are alerted of arrivals to greet guests with friendly messages and trigger visitor badges.

Humly Floor Plan

Humly Floor PlanHumly Floor Plan addresses the challenge of booking workspaces in hybrid business environments with flexible, dynamic worker schedules. The product provides a comprehensive 3D overview of meeting room, desk, and parking space availability on each floor, in each building, and in every garage. Workers can check availability for new bookings en route to the office, and remotely manage existing bookings to reduce frustration on arrival. Inside the office, Humly Floor Plan’s3D visualization tool provides a view of available (green) and unavailable (red) spaces on passive displays, and can be used to book spaces on a touchscreen kiosk when deployed in interactive mode.

Humly Wayfinding & Humly Reservations

Humly Wayfinding and Humly Reservations respectively exist to guide workers to available meeting rooms, and book meeting rooms, desks, parking spaces and more on a touchscreen.

Humly Wayfinding is ideal when deployed on larger displays and kiosks, with a detailed list of meetings, times, and destinations similar to airport arrival/departure screens that are absorbable on quick glance.

Humly Reservations provides users with an overview of their personal bookings, with the ability to make adjust schedules, add guest users, and initiate bookings directly from Microsoft Teams.

“We have gradually developed our suite of Humly Software Solutions for the workplace over the past ten years, with an emphasis on keeping our portfolio streamlined and perfecting each product over time,” says Anders Karlsson, CEO, Humly. “Our focus on developing responsive software solutions that are easy to use, visually attractive, interoperable with third-party systems, and infinitely scalable through our Humly Cloud service ensure that our customers have long-lasting, valuable and customizable solutions to book, manage and optimize office spaces of any scale over many years.”

InfoComm 2023 takes place June 14 to 16 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Humly’s North American channel partners will join Humly representatives at their InfoComm booth to demonstrate the full range of Humly Workplace Solutions in various deployment examples.

AVI-SPL, a Microsoft Managed Partner, developed the bundle in partnership with Crestron, Jupiter and Salamander Designs. The outcome, the company says, is an elegant solution that seamlessly transforms the popular Microsoft Teams Front Row setup into a personalized experience for each attendee, in-person and remote. In response to customer requests across the globe, the bundle also responds to increasing mandates for accessible, sustainable solutions, says the company. As a complete solution, it also satisfies market demand for simple, quick, and scalable deployment.

As hybrid work takes hold worldwide, companies are rapidly reconfiguring offices with more video-enabled meeting and gathering spaces. To reenergize these modern workplaces, forward-thinking organizations have renewed their focus on employee experience, meeting equity, and environmental sustainability. Signature Microsoft Teams Rooms are purposefully designed to optimize meeting equity.

In addition, Salamander furniture is built for accessibility. Their facilities are 100% solar-powered and their processes are RoHS and CARB compliant. Jupiter Pana LCD displays are ENERGY STAR certified, reducing energy consumption over comparable large format displays.

XTEN-AV, the cloud-based platform provider of AV design announced the launch of X-VRSE, a VR solution that allows users to design and visualize their spaces using virtual reality, as an immersive experience.

After integrating automation and cloud computing into its platform, the Union City, Calif.-based company is now introducing VR into design and sales processes to create a new benchmark for the AV industry. X-VRSE lets users enter into and explore their spaces using an interactive VR platform.

The technology of X-VRSE allows users to add, alter and customize the products and aesthetics of the room while witnessing all of it, in front of them, in the X-VRSE environment. With a range of room options, users can simulate meeting rooms, classrooms, immersive rooms, etc., using X-VRSE. Device coverages, sitelines, sound pressure levels can be visualized, enabling users to change or reposition their devices, choosing the right product for the right environment.

Additionally, X-VRSE lets users “Bring their own Rooms,” 3D renders made in tools like Revit and Google sketchup and visualize them in X-VRSE VR environment. X-VRSE automatically creates multiple drawings in 2D such as Line Schematics, Signal Flow Diagrams, etc.

“We are excited to launch X-VRSE, a VR solution that is going to transform design and sales processes in the AV industry. After streamlining the platform with technologies like automation and cloud computing, and winning awards and even a patent for these, VR was the next big thing that XTEN-AV had its eye on!,” says Vibhav Singh and Sahil Dhingra, co-founders, XTEN-AV.

They continue, “Our aim is to give our users a world-class VR experience and equip them with the latest technology to create even more comprehensive designs & spaces. X-VRSE offers multiple ways to utilize the platform by either using a VR headset or by using a standalone version on any laptop or desktop, essentially working as a game on your computer.”

Incorporation of virtual reality with AV design and sales offers the ease of visualizing 2D designs, as an immersive experience, even at the conceptualization/design stage of a project, says XTEN-AV.

The X-VRSE technology not just makes it easier for the AV designers and integrators to create comprehensive, stimulating AV designs but also for sales to convince decision-makers and clients to select appropriate products right from the start, sys the company.

XTEN-AV will be showcasing X-VRSE LIVE at booth #4260 at InfoComm 2023. Visitors can experience the VR solution and its immersive environment, interact with the founding team, and avail exciting offers and discounts.

The post Crestron Expands Digital Workplace Portfolio With Four New Products appeared first on My TechDecisions.

]]>
Crestron announced the largest expansion of its Digital Workplace portfolio to date at its Modern Work Summit, held this week in Madrid, Spain. The global workplace collaboration technology provider introduced the following range of hybrid meeting solutions across the enterprise:

“We aim to be the ultimate partner for organizations seeking complete room solutions, company-wide workplace platforms or both,” states Brad Hintze, Crestron EVP global marketing. “Our goal is to provide a seamless and consistent experience across every room in the workplace, regardless of its size or function. We strive to be the driving force behind workplace technology solutions that make a tangible difference in how people work. The new products in the Crestron portfolio make this happen.”

Hybrid meetings have become essential for businesses to operate. Crestron provides enterprises with the tools to enable effective audio and video collaboration in every space, utilizing a broad product catalog and powerful management tools. In contrast, other solutions may require cobbling together multiple vendors to achieve the same level of reach and functionality across the enterprise.

Crestron Air Media Connect Adapter Bundled with Microsoft Teams

The AirMedia Connect Adaptor is a one-touch, plug-and-play wireless presentation solution for wireless conferencing. Crestron and Microsoft will launch an AirMedia collaboration bundle for Microsoft Teams software that will afford Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) and Microsoft Teams meetings in even more spaces. According to Crestron, the AirMedia Connect Adaptor is the only adaptor optimized by Microsoft for wireless collaboration, eliminating the need for an application to present and conference.

Craig DurrAccording to Craig Durr, a senior analyst at Wainhouse Research, “I am bullish to see Crestron as the first major vendor in the managed BYOD space. Working with Microsoft, they have released a BYOD solution with a very aggressive price point that can run the Microsoft application. The solution addresses a gap within the Microsoft ecosystem where BYOD is still a preferred solution for collaboration. For end users, the AirMedia Connect Adaptor easily connects to a laptop, and offers a user-friendly BYOD experience akin to a Microsoft Rooms-lite approach. For IT administrators, the solution is manageable. Everybody wins.”

Crestron Air Media Connect

Enabling Seamless BYOD Collaboration in Any Type of Room

BYOD is a leading request of organizations that want a simple way to bring meeting capabilities to smaller or non-traditional collaboration spaces where they may not want to deploy full third-party collaboration infrastructure. The AirMedia Connect Adaptor works with various platforms for added flexibility, but the Microsoft Teams software variation adds even more convenience for organizations that have chosen a standard meeting platform.

How does Crestron’s AirMedia Connect Adaptor Work?

Users will need to plug the AirMedia Connect Adaptor into the local device’s USB-C connector, use the quick-touch buttons, and present or conference with no need to install additional software or adjust user access. Users have the option to join virtual meetings using their preferred device.

The AirMedia Connect Adaptor allows for content transmission in up to 4K/30p, so users never have to worry that their image or video quality will suffer. All content transmitted utilizes encryption, so guests won’t have to worry about using new networks, and hosts won’t have to worry about unwanted intrusions.

A Gateway to Better Meetings

For Microsoft Teams users constantly moving to and from their office, the AirMedia Connect Adaptor will streamline BYOD workplace experience, says the company.

When using Crestron room technologies, the AirMedia collaboration technology can integrate seamlessly. Thus, it creates an intelligent experience that includes occupancy sensors to wake the room, touchscreens to manage schedules and controls, and the Crestron DigitalMedia platform for wired presentation and content distribution, without requiring extensive programming in each room.

Managing AirMedia Devices

As with all Crestron devices, provisioning and managing AirMedia devices can be done remotely with zero-touch provisioning through the Crestron XiO Cloud Management System, which can also be used to deploy firmware updates, keeping the system updated without needing new installations or hardware replacements.

With Crestron, organizations have access to a suite of hybrid meeting solutions that can be easily and seamlessly integrated to meet their unique needs without relying on multiple vendors or products.

Ilya Bukshteyn“At Microsoft, we understand the vital role of hybrid meetings in supporting effective collaboration in today’s workplace. It’s essential to have hardware solutions that are certified to integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Teams and meet the needs of small, medium, and large meeting spaces. We are pleased to see Crestron’s continued commitment to innovation in this area. Their dedication to empowering customers with comprehensive hybrid meeting solutions makes them an invaluable partner,” says Ilya Bukshteyn, vice president, Microsoft Teams Calling and Devices at Microsoft.

Videoconferencing solutions such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Google Meet and others became household names over the last two years as organizations adopted – at first – a remote work environment that morphed into hybrid work as employees began coming back to the office.

The collaboration industry and the hardware and software companies that provide the innovative solutions that make remote and hybrid work possible have adapted to make those transitions possible while keeping employees productive – regardless of where they are.

TechDecisions saw this on full display at InfoComm 2022, where some of the biggest names in unified communication and collaboration were showing off their newest solutions.

Zoom, now a world-famous brand that has become synonymous with videoconferencing, was showing off its newest Zoom Rooms features, including its Workspace Reservation tool that enables users to book meeting spaces via an interactive map of the office.

Hybrid work, meeting equity and all-in-one devices

However, the name of the game at InfoComm was hybrid work and meeting equity, and Zoom was also highlighting its intelligence video technologies, such as Smart Gallery, a feature that displays multiple video feeds from a single conference room camera, making it easier for remote meeting attendees to see everyone clearly.

During a demonstration at Zoom’s booth, Smart Gallery displayed three video feeds: the whole room and one each for myself and Mark Barragan, Zoom’s manager of Zoom Rooms for the Americans.

Zoom has struck up countless partnerships with makers of videoconferencing cameras, such as Poly and Logitech, both of which were showing off their devices and highlighting their relationships with the world’s largest software providers and their purpose-built devices for collaboration platforms.

Poly, in addition to their suite of videoconferencing cameras and speakers, recently released the R30 USB video bar for small conferencing spaces that combines enterprise-grade video and audio tools into one small, easy-to-deploy form factor. The device features intelligent audio and video technologies for speaking framing and noise reduction to ensure all in-room participants are heard equally.

Logitech, a longtime videoconferencing hardware market leader, was also showing off its lineup of all-in-one Rally Bar devices, in addition to its full suite of remote and hybrid work essentials, such as headsets, personal conferencing cameras.

Also highlighting its newest all-in-one conferencing device was Bose, which is marketing its decades-long expertise in audio as the reason its VideoBar VB-S stands out from its competition with six beam-steering microphones that filter out unwanted noise and intelligent video-framing capabilities.

For advanced conferencing experiences where hybrid work meeting equity is a must, Crestron — a brand ubiquitous in enterprise conferencing spaces and other audiovisual installations — debuted its new Sightline technology that tracks the active speaker and displaying the view of the entire room while simultaneously framing individual speakers.

While designed with hybrid workers in mind, Sightline also makes it easier for in-room participants to follow along with remote participants by keeping their video in the line of sight.

For enhanced audio intelligibility, Shure displayed its MXA920 Ceiling Array Microphone featuring the company’s Automatic Coverage technology, the microphones pre-configured audio capture with minimal set up required, dramatically reducing the time and cost of deployments. The conference room microphones include the onboard IntelliMix DSP for noise and echo-free performance.

Collaboration displays

Building on the idea of all-in-one videoconferencing bars, display manufacturers such as LG, Avocor, Sharp NEC Display Solutions, Samsung and others were showing off their enterprise-quality displays with built in cameras, speakers and microphones to take the complexity out of conferencing spaces.

Among LG’s new lineup of impressive DVLED displays, the company was showing off its videoconferencing displays, including the One:Quick series, which features the 55-inch One-Quick Works and the 43-inch Flex model. Both are running on Windows 10 and are compatible with a wide variety of videoconferencing apps.

Like other hardware providers, collaboration display manufacturer Avocor is also looking to partner with leading conferencing software companies, evidenced by its new Google Meet Series One displays being highlighted on the show floor.

The family of products, developed in partnership with Google Workspace, includes the Series One Board 65 and Series One Desk 27. While optimized for Google’s flagship business collaboration and conferencing platform, both can run any videoconferencing app.

Both include an integrated camera, microphone and speaker, as well as whiteboarding capabilities and intelligent audio and video features designed to reduce unwanted noise and keep on-site and remote participants engaged.

Similarly, Sharp NEC Display solutions showed off its PN-L2B AQUOS BOARD Smart Interactive Display, which it says it designed for hybrid meetings and classrooms. THe displays feature a single USB-C connector for easy startup and built-in wireless connectivity, among other visual features for which this brand is known. Several operating systems are supported, including Windows, Android, iOS, MacOS, iPadOS and Chrome OS.

Samsung, meanwhile, combines its impressive, interactive display technology with tried-and-true conferencing solutions from providers such as Logitech to provide all organizations need to collaborate with remote workers.

For educational settings, Samsung highlighted the Flip Pro, an interactive whiteboard that enables simultaneous collaboration for up to 20 people.

Monitoring and management tools for IT

However, what IT professionals have been calling for as they struggle to monitor and manage their organization’s new conferencing technology and spaces is visibility into those devices, many of which are deployed on the network. To address that need, Logitech highlighted its device management and deployment software, Sync and Logi Tune.

Poly offers similar a similar solution, Poly Lens, to help IT keep tabs on its conferencing devices.

Moving away from brand specific monitoring tools, companies such as software provider Utelogy and global AV integration firm AVI-SPL offer their own monitoring and management tools to help IT ensure conference room systems continue to run without disruption.

Utelogy CEO Kevin Morrison told me that as organizations continue to embrace hybrid work and are building out new conferencing spaces, IT professionals are lacking visibility and management capabilities. The Utelogy platform aims to solve that problem by providing a combination of monitoring, management, control and testing capabilities.

The platform currently supports 2,800 devices, which provides an invaluable tool for IT professionals to manage conferencing systems from the growing ecosystem of hardware vendors.

Meanwhile, AVI-SPL showed off the newest version of its Symphony platform for management and monitoring of multi-vendor collaboration systems and meeting environments.

The new version of the Symphony platform, 6.0, provides a revamped user interface that provides clarify and efficiency for IT administrators and analysts to easily see and understand what is happening across their collaboration technology ecosystem.

What IT can learn from InfoComm

Aside from those vendors, the InfoComm show is becoming heavily tailored to IT professionals, with over 20 sessions this year focused on IT and networked audiovisual systems. That included a panel session focused on the point of view of IT and end users of these products being showcased.

Other sessions explored cybersecurity implications for IoT, AV and workplace technology in enterprise environments, while a three-day course on networked AV systems looked at the impacts of AV systems on networks.

Visit the InfoComm show’s website or AVIXA’s website to learn more about these technologies.
