Warren High School Pilots the Flipped Classroom
With lessons recorded for students to learn at home, precious time in class is devoted to one-on-one instruction.
Warren High School is in its first year of a flipped classroom pilot program. Teachers use HP EliteBook 2760 tablet PC’s and Screen-O-Matic software to record lectures. The school also provides teachers with microphones and headsets to ensure the audio quality of the videos. The videos are hosted on YouTube, but the school is exploring how to host the videos internally and address bandwidth concerns. Warren High School’s technology director explains the theory behind flipping the classroom and offers tips and best practices for bringing the flipped classroom to your school.
