My TechDecisions Podcast Episode 179: Simplifying and Consolidating the Cybersecurity Stack
Jason Clark, chief security officer at Netskope, joins the podcast to talk about simplifying cybersecurity and consolidating tools.
On this episode of the My TechDecisions Podcast, we speak with Jason Clark, chief security officer at Netskope, about why organizations should consider consolidating their cybersecurity tools and work to simplify their security stack.
According to Clark, organizations should focus on simplifying processes, drive consolidation on platforms and prioritize investing in talent rather than tools.
Clark, the former chief information security officer for the New York Times, identifies four foundational solutions as the core of any good security program:
- Secure Service Edge (SSE)
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) / Security, Information and Event Management (SIEM)
- Endpoint Security
Once that core is established, IT security professionals can work to address any gaps with an emphasis on spending the most in places that present the most security risk to the organization.
