The Winter NAMM 2013 (National Association of Music Merchants) show in Anaheim, CA which was held January 24th – 27th was undeniably about the celebration of music. With numerous concerts and performances each day, every genre of music was represented from marching bands such as the Get-A-Life Marching Band, to Kala Ukulele Virtuoso James Hill & Bakithi Kumalo, to Pianists Llew Matthews & Corey Allen with Bassist John B. Williams—Acoustic/Digital Trio. And there was no need for coffee on Friday, January 25th since at 9:00 a.m., a NAMM favorite, The Wicked Tinkers kicked off the day. Their tribal Celtic sounds and powerful performance features the tribal drum, bagpipe, didgeridoo and horn.
Self professed as a hub for people wanting to seek out the newest innovations in musical products, recording technology, sound and lighting, NAMM’s activities and programs were designed to promote music making to people of all ages.
Indeed for the attendees of Winter NAMM 2013 was like Mardi Gras, homecoming and a candy shop all rolled up into four days.
