Peavey announces a new line of video switchers and scalers to be added to their digital audio system, MediaMatrix. With this new line of components, integrators can now add video switching and scaling to any control interface in communication with MediaMatrix.
The four new products — the VSC-101tn, VSC-101, VSC-51, and the VCAT-HD — give users control over video projects using the NION drag-and-drop interface for nControl, nTouch surface-mount panels and the NWare Mobile App through MediaMatrix installations.
The VSC-101 is a rack mounted video presentation scaler that is capable of scaling ten video inputs into one VGA or HDMI output. The VSC-101 offers a variety of video input options including, four inputs HDMI (1.4 compliant), four VGA inputs with 1/8 inch (or 3.5mm) stereo audio inputs, one component video input, one S-Video input and two composite video inputs. Along with these features, the new VSC-101tn includes a twisted-pair output connection for the VCAT-HD-R through CAT-5e or CAT-6 shielded cables, which can send a signal up to 70 meters. Both the VSC-101 and the VSC-101tn have balanced audio outputs and 10-watt power amps for playback capability.
The VSC-51 is a scaling presentation switcher that can scale five video inputs into one HDMI output. The VSC-51 is rack mountable to the rear or front of standard equipment racks. With the VSC-51 users have the option of the following video inputs — two HDMI, one VGA, one Component Video and one Composite Video or S-Video. Along with these video inputs, the VSC-51 also features a 1/8 inch (or 3.5 mm) stereo analog audio output and a SP/DIF digital audio RCA output jack which allows for audio-follow-video.
The VSC-101, VSC-101tn and VSC-51 are HDCP 1.3 compliant and are NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.42, PAL and SECAM compatible. All functions can be controlled using the front panel, the hand-held IR remote (which is included) or serially through the RS-232 by an external NION controller.
The VCAT-HD is both a HDMI/IR/RS232 transmitter and receiver (VCAT-HD-T and VCAT-HD-R respectively). Using HDBase technology, the VCAT-HD delivers a HDMI signal and a control signal (IR and RS-232) over a single shielded, twisted-pair data cable. The VCAT-HD can send a transmission up to 70 meters with a CAT5e/CAT6 cable.
