Open source management software provider OpenERP has announced the latest iteration of its flagship product. OpenERP 6.1 includes an intuitive application dedicated to outlets and is fully integrated with other OpenERP applications.
OpenERP 6.1 features 1,800 free applications, among them being the popular touchscreen point of sale web application that works with any tablet or iPad.
The latest version also introduces the so-called “kanban view,” a new way to organize activities. It is a visual board on which an small- to medium-sized business (SMB) can control activities at a glance and manage them using drag-and-drop actions. The kanban view has been used in several OpenERP applications, including managing agile tasks and the sales funnel, browsing employee directory, following the recruitment process, etc.
In addition, OpenERP 6.1 introduces several social features aimed at providing SMBs with the ability to share documents with customers and partners. It also sports a synchronization mechanism that enables business flows to be fully integrated between companies.
The latest version can be acquired from the downloads section of the OpenERP website.
